Full Stack Engineer (React + Kotlin)

6-12 months, Remote

The client, a well-established tech company from Germany, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a strong focus on backend development using Kotlin. This is a remote position for a 6-12 month project, where you will collaborate with a team of 20 engineers.

The role requires a proactive, independent developer who can actively contribute to scaling the system and shaping future features. You will work closely with designers and engineers to maintain and extend design systems, integrate third-party libraries, and ensure the performance and accessibility of the tool.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop backend solutions in Kotlin, focusing on scalability and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build high-quality features
  • Contribute to CI pipeline configuration, build scripts, and integrations
  • Ensure code quality through testing and proactive problem-solving

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a software engineer.
  • Proficient in JVM-based languages such as Java (our team uses Kotlin with SpringBoot).
  • Skilled in building Single Page Applications (SPAs) using TypeScript (we use React).
  • Solid understanding of microservice architectures and relational databases (we work with PostgreSQL).
  • Strong software engineering foundation — you understand the inner workings of systems and can clearly weigh the pros and cons of different approaches.
  • Familiarity with various testing strategies and capable of writing efficient, effective tests.
  • Experience with AWS services, ElasticSearch, and GraphQL is a plus.
  • English B2+ is a must

Interview Process:

  • 45-minute call
  • Live coding session

This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team working on a cutting-edge product with a client that values autonomy, innovation, and collaboration.
