For Vienna-based start-up, we are looking for a Intermediate Backend Software Engineer with expertise in Node.js.

Company offer digitization and automation of payroll processing for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as tax consulting firms in Austria. Already over 600 companies manage their payroll processing with us, easily and in compliance with current legal requirements.

Responsibilities:

— Design and implementation of features and refactorings for the app backend, based on a microservices architecture using Serverless Functions on GCP, Firestore, TypeScript
— Close collaboration with a team of developers, subject matter experts, and testers
— Improvement of the technical infrastructure in areas such as
— Stability and performance of the backend infrastructure
— Automatic and manual error detection (Monitoring and Reporting)
— Tooling for handling application errors (Logging and Debugging)

Requirements

— Experience in backend development and maintenance, advantageous if you have/know some of these:

• Experience with one of the major Cloud platform providers, +1 if it’s GCP
• Microservices architectures
• Serverless Functions (AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions, Azure Functions)
• NoSQL databases (Firestore, MongoDB, or similar)
• TypeScript, Node.js
