Lead Laravel & PHP Developer

We are looking for an experienced Lead Developer with a strong background in Laravel to join our client’s team on a Full-Time basis. This is a fully remote role with a Denver-based software development company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement custom features and functionalities in PHP and Laravel.
  • Lead the back-end technical strategy and guide the development team.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product Leadership, and Design teams to deliver pixel-perfect features.
  • Actively support cross-functional departments with ongoing technical needs.
  • Ensure high-quality code through meticulous QA, bug fixing, bottleneck identification, and maintaining security standards.
  • Optimize feature performance, ensuring fast load times, responsiveness, and scalability.
  • Maintain high code quality, structure, and automation across the team.
  • Clearly document code changes and developments.
  • Monitor application efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and proactively implement solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and innovations in software development.

Key Requirements:

  • 8 years of experience with PHP and Laravel.
  • B2 English level or higher (spoken and written).
  • Proven track record in crafting and implementing technical strategy while leading a team.
  • Demonstrable examples of live projects built with PHP and Laravel that showcase expert-level proficiency.
  • Strong experience in QA, test automation, and unit testing.
  • Good design sensibilities and a keen eye for high-quality user interfaces.
  • Excellent understanding of RESTful APIs and experience integrating third-party APIs.
  • Experience with modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Tokens.
  • Familiarity with Git for version control.
  • Expertise in managing smooth database migrations.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Back-End technologies.
  • Attention to detail, proactive mindset, and strong teamwork ethic.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with customizing WordPress and/or WooCommerce with PHP, including plugins.
  • Experience building AI-powered applications using OpenAI or similar libraries.
  • Knowledge of data visualization and analytics.
  • Experience in gamification, points/rewards systems, and interactive features.
  • Experience in building applications for health, fitness, fashion, or cosmetics industries.
  • Familiarity with developing quizzing or survey management applications.
  • Passion for health and fitness.
