PHP Team Lead (Symfony)We’re looking for a PHP Team Lead to join our client’s team on a full-time basis.

This is a fully remote role with a telehealth company.

Collaboration & Cross-functional Coordination:

Partner with product managers, designers, and fellow technical leaders to deliver solutions that align with customer needs and business goals.
Contribute to setting timelines, managing priorities, and ensuring all project deliverables are met within specified deadlines.

Team Development & Support:

Cultivate a high-performing backend team by mentoring and guiding developers, helping them to troubleshoot and solve complex technical challenges.
Offer regular feedback during 1:1 meetings, focusing on career growth, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Platform Performance & Scalability:

Play a key role in scaling and enhancing a robust platform backend, ensuring the infrastructure meets the growing demands of the business.
Work on critical backend optimizations, integrating third-party APIs, and improving system efficiency and performance, especially with payment systems.

Ownership of Technical Solutions & System Design:

Take responsibility for designing and implementing scalable backend architectures using tools like PHP/Symfony, Node.js, and Kubernetes.
Ensure alignment with the overall business strategy while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement innovative technical solutions.

Best Practices & Development Efficiency:

Champion best practices for backend development, including maintaining high code quality, ensuring comprehensive testing, and driving continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
Guide the team in adopting the latest development practices and tools to maintain top-tier technical standards and foster innovation.

Over 5 years of experience in backend development, specifically in e-commerce environments.
At least 2 years of proven experience in leading, managing, and mentoring backend development teams.
B2 English level or higher (spoken and written).
Expertise in Symfony with a deep understanding of its features and best practices.
Hands-on experience with both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB).
Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or similar technologies.
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture, with practical experience in building scalable systems.
Proficient in using version control systems like Git and working with CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment.
Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on performance optimization and system scalability.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience with e-commerce platforms like Magento, Shopify, or custom-built solutions.
Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript frameworks).
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.) and containerization technologies.
Experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum, Kanban).
